Another tremendous night of chuckwagon racing at the final stop of the 2015 WPCA Pro Tour at the Battle of the Rockies in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. Reigning World Champion Kirk Sutherland in search of his second consecutive World Chuckwagon Championship, came into the show leading the way again, but penalties proved to be costly and now Kurt Bensmiller sits atop the World Standings. The World Champion Chuckwagon Driver will be declared on Saturday night.

Night 2 day money again went to Mitch Sutherland who piloted his Edwards Garage outfit to a 1:14.07 from barrel 4 in heat 4. That put him exactly one-quarter of a second faster than Dustin Gorst who placed second on the night. Doug Irvine was third, Obrey Motowylo placed fourth, and Rae Croteau Jr. filled out the top five on the evening.

After two runs, Dustin Gorst leads the overall aggregate standings with a two run total time of 2:29.49. That puts him 1.17 seconds in front of Doug Irvine who has now moved up into second place overall. Logan Gorst and Chad Harden complete the top four, with Kelly Sutherland in fifth place overall, just 3 one-hundredths of a second out of a possible spot in Sunday’s championship final heat. The top 4 drivers in the aggregate after Saturday’s run will go into the championship final heat where the winner will take home the 2015 Battle of the Rockies Championship.

Day 3 of the final stop of the 2015 WPCA Pro Tour at the Battle of the Rockies from Rocky Mountain House can be heard live on Friday night, August 14, 2015 on Rural Radio on SiriusXM Channel 147, and Country 99 at 99.7 FM out of Bonnyville starting at 9:00pm Eastern, 8:00pm Central and 7:00pm Mountain Time.
