EVAN SALMOND OPENS UP THE PONOKA STAMPEDE STAMPEDE WITH A DAY MONEY RUN

Friday night saw the running of the first leg of chuckwagon racing’s unofficial “Triple Crown” at one of one of chuckwagon racing’s biggest and most prestigious events – the Ponoka Stampede. Weather and track conditions were excellent, and it was an entertaining evening of racing for the Ponoka Stampede fans. Evan Salmond opened up the 2015 Ponoka Stampede with the fast time of the night with a 1:14.73.

Coming off barrel number 1 in the 8th heat, Salmond - driving the Phoenix Rentals outfit - placed first on the night by 19 one-hundredths of a second over Kirk Sutherland. Chad Fike was third, Colt Cosgrave was fourth, and Luke Tournier rounded out the top five for the night
