Justin Timberlake Releases ‘Drink You Away’ to Country Radio

After his duet of “Drink You Away” with Chris Stapleton brought down the house at the CMA Awards last week, it was only a matter of time before Justin Timberlake made a move towards country music. According to Taste of Country, the singer has released a condensed version of “Drink You Away”, featured on his 2013 album The 20/20 Experience, as a single to country radio.

Is it a country song? No. But that shouldn’t come as any surprise given everything else that plays on country radio today. “Drink You Away” leans more towards R&B and pop. The crunchy guitars, organ riffs and the song’s theme of trying to drink someone away are reminiscent of country music, but faint connections at best. You can listen to the song in the video below
